The East Region of Kentucky is one of the most unchurched portions of the state of Kentucky. There are over 359,000 people who do not attend any church anywhere on Sunday morning, approximately 90 percent of the population. There are only 250 Southern Baptist Churches which is half the number of churches in the West Region of Kentucky where about 20 percent of the population attends church. We need more churches in East Kentucky and the 3+1 Church Planter Initiative from Clear Creek Baptist Bible College is an important part of that effort. This training effort is designed to not only equip church planters with their biblical and theological needs but also to teach them church planting skills taught by seasoned church planting practitioners. May the Lord use this effort to train, equip, and inspire church planters for East Kentucky and around the world.

As God sends men to serve in the harvest fields of West Virginia, we want them to have the greatest chance of success. West Virginia is a beautiful state with a tragic spiritual reality. Because there are counties in West Virginia that are less than 5% Christian, West Virginia is a place of great opportunity for both church planting and church revitalization. Jesus said, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.” As we pray, we are also building processes that facilitate healthy ministry and church planting. Over the last 2 years we have implemented a church planting apprenticeship and mentoring program to prepare men for the harvest field. In partnership with our local churches and Clear Creek Baptist Bible College, we are excited to train and mentor the next generation of church planters in our great state.
